For over a decade, nursing was more than a career to me — it was my calling. I became a NICU nurse because I wanted to be there for families during their most vulnerable moments, to bring comfort, strength, and care when it was needed most.

But in 2023, my world shifted forever. I became a mom to my precious daughter, Ivy Irene. Ivy was born with Down syndrome, a congenital heart defect, and unique medical needs. Overnight, I went from being a NICU nurse to being a NICU mom — her advocate, her caregiver, and her biggest source of love.

Ivy’s journey was both challenging and extraordinary, filled with strength, laughter, and grace. In February 2025, Ivy passed away unexpectedly. Life hasn’t been the same since, but I believe her story — our story — can bring comfort, hope, and connection to others walking similar paths.

The Ivy Branch is her legacy. It’s a space to share my journey, honor her life, and remind others that they are never alone — no matter what season they’re in.
