A New Chapter — Traveling Nurse, Steady Heart

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved two things deeply — nursing and traveling. Both have shaped who I am in different ways: one grounded in compassion and care, the other in curiosity and discovery.

When I found Aya, I realized I didn’t have to choose between them. I could truly have the best of both worlds.

Travel nursing felt like the perfect opportunity — a fresh start, a chance to explore new places, and a way to connect with people and communities I might never have met otherwise. It’s a balance of purpose and adventure, and for me, it just makes sense.

My circumstances are rare. After losing my daughter, Ivy, I took a break from the bedside. She was medically complex, so even though I wasn’t in scrubs, I was still doing critical care — managing a ventilator, giving breathing treatments, changing her tracheostomy and gastrostomy tubes. That season of my life taught me more about resilience, presence, and patient-centered care than any textbook ever could.

Aya understood that.

They worked with me through my unique situation, helping me find a position that valued both my experience and my story — one that believed in my competencies and my heart.

Because of Aya, I decided to take the leap. Their team — especially my recruiter — has made this experience unforgettable. They’ve supported me every step of the way, offering encouragement, flexibility, and genuine care for what’s best for me and my life.

This next chapter feels exciting and full of possibility.

I can’t wait to share my journey — the hospitals, the people, and the stories that unfold along the way.

So tell me — can you guess where my first travel assignment will be?

From Ivy’s branches,

I’m learning that growth often begins when we take a step into the unknown. Every new place I go is another reminder that Ivy’s love travels with me — guiding, grounding, and inspiring me to keep reaching for what’s next.
